small roots

Cascade Fence & Deck was founded in 1997 by the Kaski family. Known originally as Cascade Vinyl Systems, the Kaskis provided vinyl materials and installation to the Portland area.

In 2002 Brian Kaski bought out his partners and became the sole owner of the company. In order to meet changing customer needs, Cascade began offering wood fence and deck options.

After many years of serving the commercial and new construction markets, Cascade’s leadership team made the bold decision to focus the service experience entirely on homeowners. Big changes in the planning and installation process were required.

By providing plenty of information up front and creating a standard for installation, the company has been able to offer a premium service for a competitive price.

Looking forward

In 2023 Cascade Fence & Deck was bought by long time employee and active general manager Leif Wirtanen.

Today, under Leif’s leadership, Cascade Fence & Deck is focused on sustaining a culture that attracts high quality employees and value driven customers. All in the hopes of providing the best contractor experience building fences, decks, patio covers, and saunas.

  Working with Cascade Fence & Deck was a very enjoyable experience. We utilized their video estimate option to get the process started, and it was an easy and efficient way to get the ball rolling. Mike, our estimator is very knowledgeable and professional and great to work with. His communications to our question and concerns were always timely. He sent several videos, with narration, explaining the proposals for each project, which were very helpful and removed all the guesswork of what the process would be and what the end product would look like. The demo team was very efficient and did a great job of removing and cleaning up the area where the old deck existed. The crew, Randy & Edgar, were both fantastic. Both are very talented, easy and fun to work with, and it was obvious that they took great pride in their work. We appreciated their daily communications on when they would arrive at the job site, and they always cleaned up the work areas before leaving for the day…I can’t say enough about how enjoyable it was to work with these guys! The deck and cover turned our great and will be enjoyed for years to come, we highly recommend Cascade Fence & Deck!

  Very professional and punctual from the rep that came out to take my measurements to the installers that came to install the fence. Would absolutely use cascade again in the future and recommend them to friends. There was a bit of confusion when it came down to the exact measurements for the fence but that was more my fault than cascades. Make sure you double check the contract you sign. Tyler, Corey, and Jason were the main crew that came out. They always gave me a heads up when they were planning on showing up to start and notified me when they were done for the day. Corey even came to put in some hours on a Sunday when they fell behind schedule with other jobs.

  I wanted to add I had an emergency with my gate and my dog getting out while I was at work- I could not follow the normal website estimate/help directions- I reached out to Carrie via e-mail and she was amazing getting information and a quote to me in no time.  If you have had to deal with any contractors you know this is not the "Norm".  I can't thank them enough for helping me and relieving my stress.  I did not end up getting the gate with them at this time because my brother-in-law was able to fix for now.  I just want to say if you have any doubts- don't, the company is reliable, friendly and helpful. I know when I need them in the future- I will definitely use again! Original review below for patio cover which is still amazing! I would highly recommend Cascade Fencing for services. I needed a new patio cover after a botched repair on an existing structure. I had another company give me a bid and was on a deadline- I reached out via website and Carrie got back to me within an hour! Long story short with her continued correspondence and coordination with Leif- they were able to get Trevor to come out on his day “off”. Not only did they match the other bid and not pressure me with a deadline-they also offered to haul away the existing structure for no extra charge. Just when I think it’s too good to be true- The product came in early - Blake and Jason texted to let me know they were on their way- (I could not be home but my daughter was). She said they were polite and did a great job! My patio cover is beautiful and as an above and beyond Jason and Blake stabilized our broken gate. I haven’t had wonderful service in a long time- Corey followed up to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Thank you!

  My wife and I chose Cascade to build us a fence in January and we couldn't be happier. We needed a double drive gate, and Corey and Tyler did an amazing job. They were incredibly professional.   Corey and Tyler built our pergola in our redesigned backyard. It was built perfectly and met every expectation. In addition, both Corey and Tyler were excellent to work with.
