Care & Maintenance of Your Composite Deck

Composite decking is virtually maintenance free.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will notice that composite decking expands and contracts, meaning you will see some variation in the joints and
gaps on your new deck. Typically, the gaps will be bigger in the cold temps, and will be smaller in warm temps, this is normal. If your new deck is built with a wood substructure, expect movement from the natural characteristics of
wood such as: bowing, cracking, warping, shrinking, etc.

You may notice some of this reflected on the deck surface due to the wood substructure underneath moving. This movement is to be expected and is not covered under our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. Never hesitate to reach out to us to make sure what you’re seeing isn’t structurally
concerning.

Cleaning:

Periodic cleaning is recommended as needed to remove surface dirt off your decking or railing. Clean with mild soap
and water and use a soft brush to remove any dirt buildup. For heavier stains or marks, use a mild cleaner such as
Simple Green. Spray on the stained area, let it sit for a couple minutes, scrub it, and rinse thoroughly. It is always a
good idea to test the cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area prior to applying it to the entire deck.
